Framed and Ready to Go!
Well as the title says, she's Framed and ready to go to the show. My Island Home is on its way to 'Floriade Australia' to be on display at the WABA "Art of Nature 2015" Members Exhibition from the 5th - 11th October in Canberra. So if your in the area it would be well worth the visit.
The quality of work in this exhibition will be outstanding.
This painting ended up at 1mtr wide x 600mm high and is for sale at the Exhibition for $2400. Once again Kevin at Discount Art and Framing, Deagon has done an amazing job with the Framing.
I have been in Melbourne for the last week and came across an amazing Oil Painting in a pub called "Chloe". Its at the Young and Jackson and has been there since 1909. And Wow!! it is brilliant. It's so good to see artwork like this in an iconic pub that anyone can sit and enjoy and not behind ropes at a museum. The detail and mastery of fore-shortening on her foot is amazing, plus she is lifesize. Heres a blurb of the internet about her:
"She is a Melbourne Icon, mascot for the HMAS Melbourne, an extremely fine work of art; she is an ingenue, a nymph, a celebrity. She is Chloe, the famous nude protrait painted by Jules Lefebvre"
Unfortunately rumour has it that Chloe comitted suicide only a year after this painting was done.
Till next time
